Active Team Volunteers

About the Role

Our Active Team volunteers are the friendly faces that help make our centre a welcoming, well-run place. Whether you're greeting visitors, helping set up for events or supporting staff with day-to-day tasks, you'll be making a real difference to disabled people and their families every time you come in.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Welcoming visitors and signposting them to the right services

  • Helping set up and tidy away for events and group sessions

  • Supporting staff with general centre tasks

  • Assisting service users with everyday activities during visits

  • Being a friendly, reassuring presence for people who may be anxious or unfamiliar with the centre

What We're Looking For

  • A warm and approachable manner

  • Reliability and good timekeeping

  • A willingness to help wherever needed

  • Sensitivity and respect when working with disabled people

  • No specific qualifications required — full induction provided

Role Details

Hours: Flexible — from a few hours per week

Location: DRC Bedford centre

Expenses: Travel expenses reimbursed
