Carers Central is a free service completely dedicated to helping unpaid carers living or working in Luton. We provide up-to-date information and advice to people of any age caring for anyone with any disability — whether you’re a family member, friend or neighbour. Funded by Luton Council and run by the Disability Resource Centre.

Our Carers Helping Carers programme brings together unpaid carers to share experiences, provide mutual support and connect with a community that truly understands.

Through regular meetings, events and activities, carers access practical advice, emotional support and friendship from people who know firsthand what it means to care for someone they love.

Who is Carers Central for? +
Carers Central is for unpaid carers of any age who live or work in Luton. It doesn’t matter what condition or disability the person you care for has — if you provide unpaid care, we’re here for you. The service is completely free and funded by Luton Council.
What is the Carers Helping Carers programme? +
Carers Helping Carers is a peer support programme that connects unpaid carers with one another. It’s led by people with lived caring experience and offers regular meetings, activities and events where carers can share experiences, get practical advice and build friendships with people who truly understand.
How do I apply for a PA job? +
Browse our current PA vacancies above and click “Apply on Indeed” to go directly to the job listing. New vacancies are added regularly. If you don’t see a suitable role right now, contact us and we can let you know when new positions come up.
Can I advertise a PA vacancy through the DRC? +
Yes. We work with individual employers and families to advertise PA roles and help match them with suitable candidates. We can also offer practical advice on employing a personal assistant, including signposting to training opportunities. Contact us to get started.
